WHAT'S THE CONCEPT

Ataraxia is an ensemble of like minded individuals focused on performing music of an improvised nature. Although most tunes have an agreed upon basic structure, all the members are improvising simultaneously within the parameters of that structure.​

In performance, Ataraxia attempts to present the tune structure as a clear pool of water, into which the members drop their improvisation "pebbles" and see what emerges in the moment. We hope you can join us for the experience.
